Be specific about “The Bahamas”
The Bahamas is an island nation, so a Nassau/Paradise Island trip is different from staying on another island. Confirm the airport and island before comparing hotels. Jamaica is also not one single resort zone: Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios and other areas create different transfer and activity plans.
Use trip length as a filter
For a quick getaway, a convenient nonstop flight and simple ground transfer can be worth more than squeezing in a long list of activities. For a longer vacation, you may be more willing to spend time traveling between the airport, resort region and excursions.
Compare what you want to do
If your priority is mostly beach and resort time, compare the actual hotel and shoreline experience. If you want a fuller itinerary, compare tours, food, music, water activities and the transportation needed to reach them.
Watch the hidden logistics
Include baggage, airport transfers, ferries or inter-island travel where relevant, meal plans, resort fees where applicable and activity transportation. A destination that looks cheaper at the hotel-search stage can cost more once the entire itinerary is added.
Make the choice with real dates
Once you have narrowed the trip to two destinations, compare flights and hotels for the exact same dates. Real schedules and current inventory are a much better tiebreaker than a generic “best Caribbean island” ranking.
