ONCF have signed an agreement to make travel easier for fans. The deal makes ONCF an official sponsor of the tournament.
Rabat – With less than two weeks before the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Morocco, CAF and the country’s national railway operator, ONCF, have signed an agreement to make travel easier for fans.
The deal makes ONCF an official sponsor of the tournament. And as part of this partnership, ONCF will operate special train schedules during the competition, adding more seats at peak times and offering travel packages tailored for supporters traveling between host cities.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe and ONCF Director General Mohamed Rabie Khlie signed the agreement in Rabat today, in the presence of Moroccan football chief Fouzi Lekjaa and CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba.
ONCF says the plan will ensure fast, safe, and comfortable journeys for millions of fans, while promoting sustainability and inclusion. The initiative is also in line with Morocco’s wider vision to use sport as a way to strengthen African unity and empower young people.
For CAF, the partnership is another step toward delivering a world-class AFCON. For Morocco, it shows the country’s commitment to hosting a tournament that is accessible, well-organized, and welcoming to fans from across the continent.
The Africa Cup of Nations is Africa’s biggest football competition, and the 2025 edition will be historic for Morocco.
Scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, the tournament will feature 24 national teams competing across nine stadiums in six host cities.
This will be Morocco’s second time hosting AFCON, the first being in 1988. The country was originally set to host in 2015 but withdrew due to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
