Whether you have a holiday booked in Europe or are staying home this weekend you could be hit with a wave of high temperatures as parts of the UK and Europe have weather warnings in place. As Wales has an extreme heat warning in place for this weekend, popular holiday destinations across Europe will also see extreme temperatures.
Spain, France and Italy will see temperatures up to 40C as authorities warn of dangerous temperatures. Not only have weather warnings been issued for high temperatures but also for rainfall and storms.

Last month's heatwave across France saw the death of multiple people so the country is now preparing for predicted highs of 39°C in the southwest and Bordeaux region with 26 orange warnings in place.
Weather specialists in Italy caution that warm air from the subtropical latitudes over inland North Africa will sweep across the country next week, delivering scorching temperatures in the south – while Florence could experience highs of 40°C.
Orange warnings are in place across Bologna, Brescia, Perugia and Turin with predicted temperatures between 33C and 36C.
Rome, Milan and Naples are amongst 12 cities that have a yellow warning due to concerns over persistent heatwaves.
Even traditionally cooler countries are displaying indications of heating up in the forthcoming days.
Based on early forecasts from weather experts at wfy24.com, the interior Danube plains of Bulgaria and Romania are approaching 38°C, with Budapest rising into the 36–37°C.
