The United Quest Card has some great perks, but its annual fee is $350. While this might be a hefty cost for some, there are a few ways to offset it — and doing so will be easier if you’re a frequent United flyer.
Start by meeting the $4,000 minimum spend and earning the welcome bonus in your first three months of card membership. You can also take advantage of this card’s $200 annual United travel credit, and save up to $440 per roundtrip with free first and second checked bags.
With this card's welcome bonus, the PQPs you earn can put you in the fast lane toward elite airline status with United.
Besides the welcome bonus, this card offers another opportunity to earn PQPs. For every $20 you spend, you’ll earn one PQP, with an annual earnings cap of 18,000 PQPs.
United has four Premier status tiers with the following requirements and benefits:
If you’re a MileagePlus member, you’ll get extra rewards value from your United Quest Card. As a cardmember, you can earn up to 10x miles on United flight purchases: MileagePlus members earn 6x miles on their airfare, and United Quest cardholders get an additional 4x miles on their United purchases.
You can also earn 4x miles on other eligible United purchases.
If you want to improve your experience at the airport and save money, the United Quest Card is a great option. Cardmembers get a $200 annual United travel credit and benefits like priority boarding and two free checked bags (a value of up to $360 per round-trip flight). You'll also get 10,000 miles in award flight credits each year after your first cardmember anniversary.

Given that the United Quest is an airline credit card, your redemption options are fairly limited. Of course, if you plan to only use your rewards for flights, this won’t be an issue for you. You can redeem your miles on United award flights or for flights with over two dozen Star Alliance partners. Partners include Air Canada, Air China, Air India, Brussels Airlines, and Lufthansa, among others.
Besides flights, you can redeem your miles for bookings through United hotels and for things like upgrades, baggage fees, in-flight Wi-Fi, and in-flight dining.
This card offers several purchase and travel protections, providing added peace of mind for your next trip. You’ll get the following protections when you use your card for travel purchases:
Trip cancellation and interruption insurance: Up to $1,500 per person or $6,000 per trip in prepaid fares if your trip is interrupted or canceled for a covered reason.
Baggage delay insurance: If your luggage is delayed more than six hours, you can get up to $100 per day for three days to buy essentials like toiletries and clothing.
Trip delay reimbursement: If your trip is delayed for more than 12 hours for a covered reason, you could get up to $500 per traveler for things like meals or a hotel room.
Lost luggage reimbursement: You could get up to $3,000 back for each traveler if your luggage is lost, stolen, or damaged during covered travel.
Auto rental coverage: If you waive the car rental company’s collision coverage, you get up to $60,000 in primary auto rental coverage on bookings made with your card.
Purchase protection: You get up to $10,000 in purchase protection for 120 days on qualifying purchases you make on your card.
Extended warranty: You can get an extra year of warranty protection on eligible purchases you make on your card.
