BUCKSPORT, Maine (WABI) – A group of women have arrived in Maine after biking from Florida.
The group is traveling with WomenTours, a women owned and operated biking tour business based out of Rochester NY.
They have been biking from town to town along the Atlantic coast since mid April.
The cyclists range in age from 34 to 71 and they are from all over the country.
While the trip can be challenging at times the women say the journey is truly epic.
“Yes we are biking and it’s beautiful, but it truly is the people that you meet along the way that make this really special, and the women on the trip are super strong, smart and just a lot of fun,” explained Laura Miller a cyclist on her first trip with WomenTours.
“I’m addicted. I love to bike, I love the adventure, I love the challenge, and I just find myself drawn to to these long epic trips,” said Tanya Roy a cycling tour veteran.
Saturday the tour will finish with the final stop being Bar Harbor.
