Westminster Abbey offers stories of coronations, royal weddings, kings, queens, statesmen and soldiers.
Westminster Abbey in central London welcomes school groups from Key Stage 1 to 5 for guided tours, workshops, self-led visits, outreach, and virtual classrooms.
The historic venue has announced its programme of primary and secondary events designed to engage with and inspire young people.
From 24th to 26th February 2026, Years 2 – 6 can visit Westminster Abbey to explore Holy Week. The new interactive event in the Abbey garden will feature costumed interpreters from Wintershall Education.

Westminster Abbey is based in the heart of London and dates back to the 9th Century.
Students will have the opportunity to meet a donkey, sit around a table for the Last Supper, hear from Peter Jesus’ close friend Peter; and stand with the Roman soldier who saw the events of the week.
The event aims to help pupils to consider how the events of Holy Week have impacted Christian belief and worship and supports the understanding of themes of Christianity with different focuses for particular year groups.
School groups can extend their trip with a self-led visit of the Abbey at no additional cost.
On 10th February 2026, Sixth Form Question Time will invite Post-16 students to debate with distinguished speakers such as politicians, civil servants, activists and faith leaders and have their voices heard in parliament square.
Westminster Abbey offers a range of themed guided tours for primary and secondary pupils.
Tours for both include focuses on Abbey Highlights, RE and History, whilst Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils can explore Parliament and British Values and Key Stages 3-5 can focus tours on English and The Arts.
Workshops are available to add on primary visits including coronation reenactments, pilgrim badges and stained glass crafts.
