Waterloo train signal chaos as passengers told to avoid the station – London Evening Standard

Passengers are facing major disruption due to a signalling fault at London Waterloo.
Several lines are blocked and National Rail has issued a warning not to travel to the station.
Trains are currently unable to use platforms 1 to 14. Major disruption is expected until 9pm, according to National Rail.
“Passengers are advised not to travel to and from this station until further notice,” National Rail says.

Falcon Buses routes:
28 between Guildford – Worplesdon – Brookwood – Woking
436 between Woking – West Byfleet – Byfleet & New Haw – Weybridge
514 and 515 between Kingston – Surbiton – Thames Ditton – Esher – Hersham – Walton-on-Thames – Weybridge
456 between Staines – Chertsey – Addlestone – West Byfleet – Woking
479 between Guildford – Clandon – Horsley – Effingham Village – Bookham – Leatherhead – Ashtead – Epsom
408 between Cobham – Oxshott – Leatherhead – Ashtead – Epsom
A further update will be issued at 2pm the SWR confirmed.
Although SWR have said disruption to services are in place until 9pm, the company clarified this may change.
In its latest statement, the company said: “We have received an update and disruption to our services is now expected until 9pm.
“As the investigations are ongoing this may change but we will update you if it does.”
Traffic conditions are normal on London roads.
London Buses between London Waterloo – Clapham Junction – Wimbledon – Surbiton – Kingston – Hampton Court – Weybridge – Epsom – Shepperton.
Only a limited number of services will be reintroduced in the coming hours, according to SWR.
If you’re due to catch a train from or to London Waterloo later Monday, it is advised to use alternative routes.
Separate signal failures are also impacting the Elizabeth and Piccadilly lines.
Elizabeth line: Minor delays between Paddington and Abbey Wood
Piccadilly line: No service between Cockfosters and King’s Cross St Pancras
National Rail have now stated the disruption is expected until 9pm.
Passengers have been told that they will not be able to claim a taxi ride from SWR, but were told unused tickets bought today will also be valid across buses and trains on Tuesday.
