In light of the recent wildfires that have deeply impacted the people and communities of Los Angeles, Visit California has shared an update and a statement from Visit California President & CEO, Caroline Beteta.
“Over the past weeks, Californians have showcased their extraordinary resilience and unity, rallying together to support the city that has long been a symbol of inspiration and the beating heart of the state’s tourism. Now is the time to love LA and support in its recovery, helping it continue to shine as the beacon to the world.
“Visit California is in constant communication with our partners on the ground, working swiftly to support Los Angeles as well as to showcase that this region is on a road to recovery. Tourism is needed to keep these doors open and to support the many residents whose lives and livelihoods have been severely affected by the fires. Visitors are encouraged to support local restaurants, hotels and other businesses that depend on the city’s normally thriving tourism economy.
“Travellers can find updated, accurate information in Visit California’s Travel Alerts including road closures, relief accommodations and charitable organisations, including the Los Angeles Fire Foundation, the California Community Foundation, and the American Red Cross, making a difference on the ground.”
