Two New England resorts — one oceanside and one lakeside — are national treasures, according to Travel + Leisure readers

The publication released the results of its 2025 World’s Best Awards on Tuesday. Quisisana Resort in Lovell, Maine, ranked No. 4, and Winnetu Oceanside Resort in Edgartown ranked No. 15 on its list of 15 best resorts in the continental U.S. Quisisana Resort was also named the No. 1 resort in New England.

Quisisana Resort is a lakeside retreat comprised of 40 cottages and seven lodge rooms on Lake Kezar.

“This classic Maine resort offers a nostalgic camp experience with a luxury twist,” the publication wrote. “Guests can spend their days in their private lakefront cottage and come out for nightly performances by its on-site staff of professional musicians.”

“We’re deeply grateful to our guests and to Travel + Leisure for this incredible
recognition,” said owners Sam and Nathalie Orans, in a statement. “It brings us great joy to welcome couples and families who return season after season to experience our special music and theatre performances, natural beauty in Maine, and thoughtful hospitality all in the relaxed atmosphere that Quisisana has been known for, for over 100 years.”
