A second team of travel industry professionals have completed a skydive organised by Virgin Voyages to raise funds for Reuben’s Retreat.

Derek Marks from Cruise1st, Gina Roddy from Bolsover Cruise Club and Cheryl Lowe from The Telegraph joined Kelly Green from Virgin Voyages to take the 15,000 ft leap at Black Knights Skydiving Centre in Lancaster on March 20.

They were due to take part in the first group skydive In June last year, which raised more than £24,000 for the charity, but were unable to after wind speeds picked up.

The total raised from both skydives will go towards building a new retreat in Derbyshire for families of children with complex medical needs or those who have lost a child.

Roddy said: “Jumping for Reuben’s Retreat was a true privilege.

“It meant taking on something that genuinely terrified me for a cause close to my heart, one that makes such a meaningful difference to families every day.

“It gave the whole experience a real purpose beyond just the thrill, and it’s a charity I hope to continue support.”

She added it was an experience she “will never forget”, which turned from fear to “pure joy” as soon as she jumped.
