BUFFALO, N.Y. — The City of Buffalo has issued a travel advisory due to severe winter weather conditions throughout the afternoon.
Gusty winds combined with incoming snow are forecasted to create extreme whiteout conditions, reduced visibility, and hazardous travel conditions, particularly on major roadways and open areas.

City officials are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel. If travel is required, use caution and allow additional time.
“The City will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as needed. Residents are encouraged to stay informed by signing up for BuffAlert, the City of Buffalo’s emergency notification system,” said a spokesperson for the city.
