Due to strong winds and whiteout conditions, a travel advisory has been issued for all of Erie County.
"High winds and blowing snow are expected to create near-whiteout conditions across the area as a multi-day lake-effect winter storm system crosses Western New York," Erie County Mark Poloncarz said.
A Travel Advisory has been issued for all of Erie County beginning at 11:00 AM today, Monday December 29.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday extended a state of emergency across the entirety of New York state due to lake-effect snow and high winds. 
The governor’s office says non-essential state employees who live or work in several counites, including Erie, are being directed to telecommute on Tuesday where possible.

The Skyway in the city of Buffalo has been closed since 6 a.m. Monday. The closure will remain in effect until further notice, according to city officials.
