Trains disrupted between Paddington and Heathrow until end of day – live – Evening Standard

A speed restriction over a defective track is set to disrupt train services between London Paddington and Reading and Heathrow for the rest of the day.
The problem will affect Elizabeth line, Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express services, National Rail warned.
Fewer trains are able to run on all lines. Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised, National Rail warned.
It comes after there were severe delays on the Overground earlier after a tree fell on the overhead line in north London.
TfL said the tree had fallen in Haringey Green Lanes, meaning there was no Suffragette Line service between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside.
There were also severe delays on the Mildmay line while TfL fixed a signal failure at Willesden Junction.

A good service has now resumed on the Suffragette line following disruption caused by a fallen tree on overhead lines.
Transport for London said there was a good service on all Overgound lines.
A points failure at Watford Junction means trains running to and from the station may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes.
Disruption is expected until 4pm.
There are severe delays on the Overground due to an obstruction on the track.
TfL said there was no Suffragette Line service between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside due to an obstruction on the track.
There are also severe delays on the Mildmay line while TfL fix a signal failure at Willesden Junction.
There is now a good service again on the Northern Line following an earlier fire that broke out in the tunnel near Kennington.
The London Fire Brigade were called on Friday morning to reports of a ceramic track support overheating at Kennington Underground Station.
The Brigade received their first call at 7.37am and sent fire crews from Lambeth and Dowgate to the scene.
Firefighters cooled the track support and the incident was over by 9.24am, the LFB said.
Trains running between Paddington and Heathrow, including on the Elizabeth line, have been hit by delays due to a signalling fault.
Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express services have both been hit by delays of up to 30 minutes and cancellations.
Disruption is expected until at least 10.30am.
Trains are able to run again on the Northern Line after a fire broke out in the tunnel near Kennington station.
Services had been suspended between Charing Cross and Battersea Power Station after a piece of track equipment overheated, leaving commuters seeking alternative routes during rush hour.
