TOPICS:
Today is a Weather Alert Day as a quick-hitting winter storm moves through southwest Montana with heavy snow. Blowing snow is resulting in major travel impacts.
Our latest winter storm continues to bring major impacts along and south of I-90 in southwest Montana. The good news, this storm is beginning to exit the region from west to east. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for much of southwest Montana through 5 p.m. this afternoon. West of the divide, conditions have rapidly improved, though a few light showers continue.

Daytime highs in the 10s and 20s will be common with overnight lows falling into the single digits above and below zero. Wet roads may refreeze as a result tonight.

Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, a weak disturbance will move through the area, bringing another chance for light snowfall.

Most areas will see less than one inch, but folks in the Seeley-Swan Valley and West Glacier Region may see up to 2 inches of accumulation. The snow will keep road conditions slick.

Our next push of Arctic air arrives Sunday night into Monday. We could see coldest overnight temperatures yet this season, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Lows well below zero are possible, especially along and east of the divide.

Waves of light to moderate snow showers may continue through this period as well.
