The KOMU 8 First Alert Weather Team is tracking a winter storm on Wednesday with lingering impacts to travel expected on Thursday. 
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for most of mid-MO with others, mainly south of I-70, under a Winter Weather Advisory. These begin at midnight and continue until 9 p.m. Wednesday due to the incoming winter storm.
A more impactful system moves in on Wednesday. We will be in a Storm Mode 3 (0-5 scale) on Wednesday as there will be issues and hazardous travel is possible.
Many areas in mid-MO can expect multiple inches of snow as snow will fall through a majority of the day on Wednesday. There will be a sharp drop off of heavier snow near HWY 54 as temperatures will be slightly warmer so they may receive more of a wintry mix.
Snow begins early in the morning on Wednesday and continues through most of the day. Winds will gust near 20MPH so reduced visibility is also likely.
After this system passes, chilly temperatures are expected, with lows expected to reach single digits on Thursday night. Wind chills are expected to fall below 0 on both Wednesday night & Thursday night. Travel troubles will likely continue into at least Thursday morning. 
The active pattern looks to continue with another round of precipitation expected over the weekend, where we’ll be watching for a wintry mix.
