The Ranch Hudson Valley in Sloatsburg, a former Gilded Age mansion turned lush wellness retreat, is one of the best spas in the U.S.
So say the readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine which gave the resort a score of 94.40, just below Mii Amo in Sedona, Arizona, which was rated 96.
Sundara Inn & Spa in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; Cal-a-Vie Health Spa in Vista, California and The Ranch’s original location in Malibu round out the top five.
The awards were announced in the magazine’s July issue as part of their 2025 World’s Best Awards.
The historic 40,000-square foot Sloatsburg property, originally built in 1902 by J.P. Morgan for his daughter as a wedding gift when she married the great-grandson of Alexander Hamilton, is known for its results-oriented fitness retreats which incorporate panoramic hikes, strength training, restorative yoga, daily massage, and seasonal plant-forward cuisine. According to its website, the goal to “provide an intimate, distraction-free environment that allows guests to reset their minds and bodies.”
