See which other Houston-area hotels joined The Post Oak Hotel in earning accolades from Forbes and U.S. News & World Report.
The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston — which local billionaire Tilman Fertitta opened in 2018 — is once again the top hotel in the Bayou City on two new national rankings.
Last week, Forbes Travel Guide announced its 67th annual Star Awards, and U.S. News & World Report revealed its 2025 Best Hotels rankings. The Post Oak was the only Houston-area hotel to receive five stars from Forbes for the fifth consecutive year, and U.S. News & World Report ranked it No. 1 in Houston for the third year in a row and gave it a gold badge.
It remains Texas’ only Double Five-Star hotel and spa, and The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel is the only Forbes Five-Star spa in the state for the seventh year in a row. The Post Oak Hotel also received a Michelin Key in September 2024 — the second-ever announcement of the accolade and the first to include selections from the United States — and it once again received the Five-Diamond Award from AAA in October 2024. The Post Oak Hotel is the only Five-Diamond hotel in Houston and one of only three in Texas.
The latest accolades have “poised The Post Oak Hotel for a banner year in 2025,” General Manager Steven Chou said in a press release. “We look forward to continuing to provide our guests with the highest level of comfort and service.”
Meanwhile, four other Houston-area hotels received four stars from Forbes:
Trellis Spa in Houston also received four stars.
On the U.S. News list, several other Houston-area hotels also received gold badges:
The Post Oak Hotel was No. 2 in Texas, according to U.S. News, which ranked Hotel Emma in San Antonio No. 1.
Statewide, only one other Texas hotel received five stars from Forbes: The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, which came in at No. 5 in Texas on the U.S. News list. Seven other Texas hotels received four stars from Forbes.
