Family holidays are always a good idea – but finding the perfect place to go can be stressful.
You don't want to head somewhere that's going to put a huge dent in your savings, but you also want to be sure that your trip is in a safe and family-friendly location.
So, where can you find the happy medium?

Well, according to brand-new research, the best place you can travel with kids right now is Japan.
A study by Deluxe Holiday Homes looked at travel destinations around the world to determine which are the best places to holiday with children in tow, focusing on safety and affordability, among other factors.

They found that Japan ranks first in the world, earning top marks for its safety, infrastructure, and recreational value.
The country also has the highest number of family accommodation options and family-friendly activities.
Second on the list is China, ranked highly for its affordability. The company found that a family of four can eat out for under $20, while accommodation comes in around $220 per night for a family room.
Many places in the country have high safety and access to kid-friendly activities, too.
Poland placed third on the list, and leads all destinations in family rooms availability. It's also a relatively low-cost country to visit, particularly compared to other European destinations.

The study evaluated 40 of the world's safest countries based on five metrics: Safety Index, number of family accommodations, average cost of family accommodation, restaurant costs for four, and total family-friendly activities.
Rounding out the top five were Taiwan in fourth and the United Arab Emirates in fifth.
Japan is hugely popular with Aussies at the moment – the country has seen a 60 per cent uptick in Australian visitors compared with pre-COVID figures.
For kids, there are plenty of things on offer, from theme parks like Disney Sea and Universal Studios, to wild deer and skiing adventures.

But according to one Japanese tour guide, Aussies who stick to the main cities are all missing out on some of the best parts of the country.
If you want to see the best of Japan, she reckons you need to leave Tokyo and Kyoto behind, and head south.
