In a move described as historic, Cape Air is undergoing one of its most significant growth phases to date, launching a suite of new routes aimed at transforming regional connectivity across the Caribbean and Northeast United States. With service enhancements beginning as early as July and continuing through October, the Hyannis-based airline is reinforcing its commitment to accessible, reliable travel for both leisure and business passengers.

“This is a significant moment for Cape Air,” said Aaron Blinka, Vice President of Planning at Cape Air. “Each new route reflects our commitment to thoughtful, strategic growth—connecting more communities with smarter, more convenient travel options. Whether it’s streamlining access to major hubs like Boston, offering new links to the islands, or expanding our Caribbean presence, this is Cape Air building the future of regional air travel. We’re proud to be growing in a way that brings real value to our customers, partners, and the regions we serve.”
The newly announced routes are already open for booking at capeair.com or via 1-800-CAPE-AIR. Select connecting itineraries are also accessible through the airline’s partners, with more information available at flights.capeair.com/en/partner-airlines.
Caribbean Expansion: Direct Flights Between St. Thomas and St. Barthélemy Begin October 13
A major highlight of the expansion is Cape Air’s new twice-daily service connecting St. Thomas (STT) and St. Barthélemy (SBH), launching October 13, 2025. This route introduces a highly anticipated connection between two of the Caribbean’s most sought-after destinations, catering to luxury travelers, yachting guests, and island hoppers.
With this route, travelers no longer need to rely on ferry transfers or private charters to reach St. Barth’s from St. Thomas. The flight offers exceptional views, seamless travel, and a convenient alternative for those arriving via cruise or commercial airline into St. Thomas.
“This route represents Cape Air’s commitment to Caribbean connectivity,” said Linda Markham. “It’s all about elevating the island travel experience.”
Echoing this sentiment, Alexandra Questel, President of the Territorial Tourism Board of Saint-Barthélemy, remarked, “The opening of this new route between St. Thomas and St. Barth represents a meaningful step forward for regional connectivity. We warmly welcome any initiative that enhances access to our island and enriches the travel experience for visitors and residents alike. This new connection simplifies travel, supports local tourism, and brings our Caribbean communities even closer together.”
New Bedford to Boston: Connecting Southern New England to the World – Service Begins September 29
On the U.S. mainland, Cape Air will launch year-round, twice-daily flights between New Bedford Regional Airport (EWB) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), beginning September 29, 2025. This service is designed to give travelers from Southeastern Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island a fast, low-stress alternative to congested city travel.
Flying from New Bedford offers quick TSA lines, inexpensive parking, and a fast 40-minute trip to Logan, where passengers can easily connect to domestic and international destinations.
“Cape Air’s investment signals a strong commitment in both the New Bedford Regional Airport and the City,” said New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell. “The prospect of getting to Logan without Boston traffic or waiting in a long security line is sure to attract customers, and with it, more interest, business, and economic momentum to our airport.”
Linda Markham added, “By adding New Bedford to Boston, we’re putting global travel within 30 minutes of the South Coast. It’s a game changer.”
Islip, NY (The Hamptons) to Boston: Four Daily Flights Starting July 3
Cape Air’s new route between Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is set to take off on July 3, 2025, with four flights daily. This nonstop service offers a time-saving solution for travelers from Long Island and the Hamptons who wish to reach Boston and New England without the traffic and hassle of major city airports.
The route will be served by the Tecnam P2012 Traveller—a twin-engine aircraft designed for short-haul routes. Markham noted, “We are confident that this innovative aircraft will provide an exceptional flying experience for our passengers and the communities we serve. We look forward to seeing the P2012 Traveller inaugurate our service at Long Island MacArthur Airport.”
Aviation Commissioner Rob Schneider applauded the move, stating, “Cape Air recognized an opportunity to expand its wings in the Northeast from convenient MacArthur Airport. We’re delighted to offer business travelers this excellent schedule and frequency to easily fly to Boston.”
Norwood to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard: Seasonal Flights Start July 3
Also beginning on July 3, Cape Air will introduce summer-season flights from Norwood Memorial Airport (OWD) to both Nantucket (ACK) and Martha’s Vineyard (MVY). The seasonal service will run through Columbus Day, offering a convenient air option to the Cape and Islands for weekenders and local travelers alike.
Norwood, located just 30 minutes from downtown Boston, provides a streamlined departure experience with free parking, curbside access, and none of the congestion associated with larger airports.
“Norwood is the ideal launchpad for summer escapes,” said Markham. “Our new service means your beach chair is just a short flight away. As always, Cape Air is proud to offer a more convenient and hassle-free way to reach the islands.
