Spirit Airlines will add three new nonstop flights from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport in May.
The airport announced Monday that the budget airline will add nonstop weekend flights between MKE and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) and Nashville International Airport (BNA), starting the second week of May.
Flights to Los Angeles will take off Thursdays and Sundays beginning May 8, with introductory fares as low as $74. Flights to Baltimore and Nashville will run Fridays and Mondays starting May 9. Baltimore flights start at $62 and flights to Nashville start at $60.
Spirit’s new flights will operate with Airbus A320 aircraft, which feature eight “Big Front Seats” and 174 standard seats. You can book flights at Spirit.com, on the Spirit Airlines mobile app or through MKE’s new “Where We Fly” site.
With these additions, Spirit will offer eight nonstop destinations from Milwaukee: Baltimore; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Fort Myers, Florida; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Nashville, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida; and Tampa, Florida.
Spirit will be the only airline to offer nonstop service from Milwaukee to Los Angeles, according to the airport’s website. Southwest Airlines also offers nonstop flights from Milwaukee to Baltimore and Nashville.
“We know there is high demand for nonstop flights to the west coast, and Spirit’s new nonstop service to LAX is timed well for a weekend beach vacation or a visit to Hollywood,” MKE airport director Brian Dranzik said in a press release. “These new flights to Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Nashville give Milwaukee-area travelers yet another reason to choose MKE for their travel.”
