Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express train chaos to last all day – live updates – London Evening Standard

Travellers are facing day-long disruption on trains in and out of London as a number of issues affect the network.
A signalling fault between Norwood Junction and London Bridge/Blackfriars has been impacting Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express services.
National Rail earlier issued a “do not travel” alert for the affected lines.
Passengers travelling to and from London Bridge should expect a reduced service and are advised to use London Victoria as an alternative.
Meanwhile, a train derailment at a depot in Selhurst means disruption on the Overground between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon is also expected until the end of the day.

Passengers are currently experiencing minor delays on the Central line due to train cancellations.
There is currently good service on all other lines.
There are a number of incidents effecting London’s Overground network today, with some of the issues unlikely to be resolved until the end of the day.
As it stands:
An earlier fault with the signalling system between Norwood Junction and London Blackfriars is causing ongoing disruption.
The fault itself has been resolved, but delays continue.
There was also a derailment in the depot at Selhurst, which means that a number of trains are unable to leave the depot.
This means services have been cancelled or altered.
Major disruption to Thameslink and Southern services is expected until the end of the day.
There is currently good service on all London Underground lines.
As mentioned previously, there is no service between Sydenham and West Croydon for the rest of the day due to an operational incident in the Selhurst area.
Tickets are being accepted on London Buses and London Underground.
The following services are currently suspended in both directions until further notice:
Passengers travelling towards Cambridge should use Thameslink services to London St Pancras International, then change onto Great Northern services between London and Cambridge.
The following routes are running with changes, and alternative travel arrangements may be required:
All River Bus routes including the Woolwich Ferry is currently providing a good service.
A signalling fault at Barnes has blocked the line towards Hounslow, causing disruption to services passing through the station. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes, or revised.
Disruption is expected to continue until 6pm. Passengers are advised to check before travelling and allow extra time for their journey.
London Waterloo circular services, and also between London Waterloo and Weybridge / Shepperton / Windsor & Eton Riverside / Reading
The Metropolitan line is now providing a good service.
The Piccadilly line is now providing a good service.
Southbound traffic is currently queuing back over Kew Bridge, while all other traffic is flowing well.
Utility works are taking place on the A205 Mortlake Road, at the junction with A205 Kew Road. Thames Water works are in progress, with temporary traffic signals in operation in both directions.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time and approach with caution.
No service between Sydenham and West Croydon for the rest of the day due to an operational incident in the Selhurst area.
Tickets are being accepted on London Buses and London Underground.
There is a good service on the rest of the line.
