The SITE (Society of Incentive Travel Executives) India Chapter hosted its first ever workshop for Mumbai at the Jio Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. The gathering brought together senior professionals from the incentives, events, and hospitality sectors. The interactive session explored new ideas and strategies shaping the future of incentive travel as the industry prepares for 2026 and beyond.
Opening the event, Rohit Chopra, Secretary, SITE India, enlightened the challenges in the ongoing geopolitical environment, where global sanctions, wars, unrest, taxation and increasing intolerance are factors damaging travel, and incentive travel stakeholders need to diversify to their portfolio to stay relevant in the business.
Fiona DK Smith, Senior Manager India, Dubai Business Events spoke about the prospects of hosting incentive groups in Dubai amid its various conference facilities, accommodation options, etc. Rakesh Sawant, Director, Global Sales – India, Minor Hotels spoke about the expansion of the hotel group across the global and enumerated on the various brands from the hotel group.
Sabbas Joseph, Co-Founder/Director, Wizcraft, who also works with the Joint Working Group on Tourism, highlighted the initiatives taken by the Ministry of Tourism to position India as a global venue for meetings and events, citing examples of the G20 Summit and discussions on World Economic Forum to secure business relations.
The workshop served as a platform for effective networking, among a select group of attendees. It was supported by the Dubai Business Events and Minor Hotels. The session marked an important milestone in SITE India’s efforts to engage regional markets and promote the professionalisation of incentive travel in the country.
