BUFFALO, NY – The New York State Police have announced a travel ban for Erie County and the I-90, effective from 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, until 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 14, due to severe winter weather forecasted to impact Western New York. The ban may extend depending on Sunday’s storm conditions. A travel advisory remains in effect for the entire Western NY area.
The ban specifically restricts non-emergency personnel from using the roads. Violators in Erie County and the I-90 will be ticketed. Additionally, truck and tractor-trailer traffic is banned on the I-90 from Exit 46 in Rochester/Henrietta to the Pennsylvania border. The inclement weather has also prompted the rescheduling of the Buffalo Bills game to Monday, January 15, at 4:30 P.M.
