On 22 June, 27 July, and 10 August, TSA saw more than 78,000 outbound passengers in one day. In total, over 207,000 people passed through SEA on those peak days. International travel has also surged. On 26 July, the International Arrivals Facility processed 11,281 passengers, setting an all-time high.

Passengers will notice more convenience inside the terminal. Alaska Airlines added new check-in and baggage drop counters at the north end of the ticketing level. Skybridge check-in areas from the garage now allow passengers to move faster from parking to gates. Dining options also expanded. New pre-security spots include Kawaii Treats and Neighborhood Cafe. Post-security, travellers can enjoy Wunderground Coffee, Theo Chocolate, Lowrider Cookie, and Skillet. Seattle Beer Union opened near Gate A10. These additions create more variety and reduce congestion at older dining outlets. The airport wants travellers to enjoy their time, not just endure the wait.

Travel Guidance for a Smooth Journey

Airport officials recommend careful planning. Passengers should arrive at least two hours early for domestic flights and three for international flights. Peak crowd times are before 9 a.m., between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., and again between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. SEA Spot Saver helps skip long queues. Online check-in is encouraged, especially for those without checked baggage. Customer Care Connect provides real-time help from staff at information desks near Checkpoint 4 and Gate A6. Officials also remind travellers about Real ID compliance. By law, all domestic passengers must carry acceptable identification. Without it, delays are likely.

Road congestion remains a big concern. Terminal drives can become clogged, especially during peak hours. Officials advise using the parking garage instead of stopping at the terminal front. Those picking up passengers should bypass the drive entirely and meet inside the terminal. Entering from International Boulevard and exiting via the garage is the best route. Public transport is strongly advised. Link Light Rail offers fast and cheap access. Rideshare, taxis, and shuttle buses reduce parking stress.
