Royal Caribbean has introduced its new private beach resort which will debut in fall 2027 on the Caribbean coast of Mahahual in Mexico. Designed to create an effortless blend of adventure and relaxation, this ground-breaking destination will be one of the cruise line’s expanding “Perfect Day” series, which began with the successful Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas. The company is reportedly spending $600 million to redevelop the Costa Maya area, while also announcing four new projects that are already under development.
“We have spent the last 50 years shattering perceptions around cruising to transform into a global vacation brand for all generations. Now, we’re bringing our demonstrated history of unparalleled service and revolutionary innovation – everything our vacationers know and love – into our collection of destinations that offer more locally inspired perfect days and beachfront getaways,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean. “Perfect Day Mexico is bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date. This destination will be the ultimate vacation for families, and we cannot wait to welcome adventurers from around the world to Mexico for an experience only Royal Caribbean can provide,” he emphasized.

The company aims to deliver the best vacation experiences while aligning with sustainable and environmentally friendly commitments and stimulating the local economy in partnership with the Mexican government and regional communities. This includes employment opportunities and the use of local materials and services for construction and operation.
Spanning over 200 acres along Mexico’s Caribbean coast, with seven unique neighbourhoods, Perfect Day Mexico includes Loco Waterpark with more than 30 waterslides, including the 170-foot-tall Jaguar’s Peak, the tallest waterslide tower in the Americas, and the world’s longest coaster waterslide.
“At Royal Caribbean, our ambition is bigger than ever, and so is our lineup of amazing experiences we are designing, all centred on our guests,” said Kara Wallace, chief marketing officer of Royal Caribbean. “Vacationers trust us to help them make every moment a memory, which is why we are changing the game with unforgettable experiences at Perfect Day Mexico and beyond,” she added.
Travellers will also enjoy the unmatched hydrolaunch slides, a wave pool, and the world’s first sombrero slide inspired by a famous Mexican hat. Splash Cove enhances the experience with the world’s longest lazy river, float-up bars, and a 100,000-square-foot central pool, along with the cruise line’s largest Splashaway Bay for younger kids. Adults can retreat at El Hideaway, an 18+ area with a zero-entry pool, in-water DJ, and private party cabanas. For a more laid-back vacation, Costa Beach Club has fine dining, a heated infinity pool, and private cabanas with personal butlers, and Chill Beach North and South have nearly two miles of white sand beachfront with complimentary loungers and umbrellas. Visitors will be welcomed at Fiesta Plaza, a lively arrival area where they can indulge in the authentic Mexican atmosphere and have freshly made margaritas at Tipsy Sombrero bar.
Over the next three years, Royal Caribbean, which welcomes over 7 million guests annually across 300+ destinations on 28 ships, is planning to expand its destination portfolio with four new exclusive locations. In addition to the iconic Perfect Day at CocoCay and the highly anticipated Perfect Day Mexico, travellers can look forward to the launch of Royal Beach Clubs, starting with Paradise Island in the Bahamas in December 2025, Cozumel in Mexico in 2026, and Lelepa in the South Pacific, which opens in 2027 as Royal Caribbean’s first exclusive island in the Southern Hemisphere.
Dubbed a “first-of-its-kind” experience, Royal Caribbean has assured that these destinations will feature a bundle of different travel preferences — from high-adrenaline water rides to peaceful beachfront escapes, including unlimited amenities, signature attractions and cultural elements. By 2027, with the Lelepa addition, Royal Caribbean expects 90% of their guests to experience a Perfect Day destination, and those sailing from U.S. Gulf ports can look forward to the ultimate getaway with stops at both Perfect Day Mexico and the vibrant Royal Beach Club Cozumel.
With exciting new destinations on the horizon and unforgettable experiences designed for every type of traveller, Royal Caribbean is redefining the tourism industry. Whether it’s thrilling waterparks or relaxing beach clubs, guests can look forward to more ways than ever to make lasting memories in some of the world’s most beautiful places.
