Royal Caribbean Announces Major Itinerary Updates for Serenade of the Seas Alaska Cruises Set for Summer 2025
Royal Caribbean International has announced itinerary changes for several upcoming Alaska voyages aboard the Serenade of the Seas, part of its Radiance-class fleet. The adjustments affect sailings scheduled for June 2025, including the June 22 and June 8 departures from Vancouver, Canada. Guests booked on these cruises have received direct notifications from the cruise line detailing the changes, which involve the removal of scenic cruising segments and revised port arrival and departure times.

This segment, originally promoted as one of the visual highlights of the sailing, will be removed from the itinerary.

The affected sailing remains a seven-night roundtrip cruise from the Canada Place Cruise Terminal in Vancouver and still features stops in five popular Alaskan ports. These include Tracy Arm Fjord, Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, and Sitka. Although the Inside Passage has been removed from this voyage, the ship will retain the scenic cruising at Tracy Arm Fjord, ensuring passengers still experience the dramatic glacial vistas Alaska is known for.
Royal Caribbean did not specify the exact reason for removing the Inside Passage scenic cruise from the itinerary but emphasized in its communication to guests that the decision was made in the interest of maintaining reliable scheduling and prioritizing safety and logistics.

Ketchikan Port Times Adjusted for Operational Efficiency

In addition to route changes, Royal Caribbean also made time adjustments for the Serenade of the Seas’ call at Ketchikan on the June 22 sailing. Originally set to dock earlier, the ship will now arrive at 11:30 AM and depart at 6:00 PM.
These revised hours allow for optimized berthing operations and help align with expected regional traffic patterns. The move is designed to improve port efficiency and reduce the risk of delays that could cascade into the rest of the itinerary.

June 8 Sailing Also Sees Updated Port Schedule

Another impacted cruise is the June 8, 2025 departure, which set sail earlier this week from Vancouver. This seven-night voyage also underwent a change in its Ketchikan visit.
Previously scheduled to arrive at 11:00 AM and leave at 8:00 PM, the Serenade of the Seas will now dock two hours earlier at 9:00 AM and depart by 5:00 PM. Royal Caribbean explained that this adjustment was made to ensure the ship maintains a timely return to Vancouver at the end of the journey.
By reshaping port schedules on these sailings, the cruise line aims to reduce logistical bottlenecks while still providing guests ample time ashore to explore Alaska’s charming coastal towns and wilderness experiences.
