Recap: Cork travel updates as South Ring Road crash grinds traffic to a halt – Cork Beo

Cork commuters were caught in a lengthy tailback once again after yet another crash on the South Ring this afternoon.
The collision occurred shortly after 1 p.m. today inside the northbound side of the Jack Lynch Tunnel.
It took over two hours for the crash to be cleared, and delays remained in the area up until around 7pm this evening.

Queues have finally cleared on the South Ring and traffic is flowing freely again.
It's been over five hours since today's crash, and it finally looks like things are clearing up on the South Ring Road.
Still some congestion on the N40 Eastbound by Mahon and the Jack Lynch Tunnel, but traffic should start getting a lot better now that we're out of rush hour.
Traffic still quite bad on the South Ring – coming up on 5 hours now since the crash this afternoon.
TII's latest journey time estimates say it will take:
Queues on the South Ring Road Eastbound now stretching from the tunnel back as far as the Kinsale Road Roundabout – again.
Elsewhere, heavy traffic remains in both directions on the South Link, as well as on the Lower Glanmire Road/N8. Some queues approaching the tunnel from the N25 Westbound near Little Island as well.

Still not clear on the South Ring as early rush hour traffic adds more congestion to the area.
Might be best to take a different route home from work if you can.
The collision on the South Ring Road has finally been cleared after over 3 hours of delays in the area.
Queues are already starting to clear.

Traffic still heavy on the South Ring coming up to three hours after today's crash.

Road crews are still on site trying to clear the collision at the Dunkettle.
Traffic still looking very bad on the N40 Eastbound, hardly any change in the last 20 minutes.
TII's latest journey time estimates say it will take:
Delays are now stretching back as far as the Kinsale Road Roundabout. Tailbacks are also impacting traffic on the N28 Northbound/Carr's Hill.
Gardaí are at the scene of the crash at the Dunkettle – traffic crews are currently working to clear the collision.
Queues still getting longer on the N40 Eastbound.
The Dunkettle website warns that motorists travelling between the Kinsale Road Roundabout and the interchange may experience delays of more than 30 minutes.
