Palm House in Palm Beach, which debuted in November, has received more accolades, this time landing on two national magazines’ lists of the world’s best new hotels.
New York-based Travel + Leisure magazine’s 2025 list of 100 of the world’s best new hotels, released April 16, notes that Palm House “shimmers” and that entering the hotel “feels like stepping into a whimsical fantasy of Murano-glass chandeliers, shell and coral murals, pink marble and plush ruby-colored seating.”
Esquire magazine, which on April 9 unveiled its own 2025 compilation of best new hotels in the world, notes that Palm House has “arrived in the heart of the action” and now is among island’s most notable hotels.
The two honors follow Time magazine’s naming of Palm House as one of the world’s “greatest places” in March.

Located on a Royal Palm Way ocean block, the hotel opened its doors just five months ago after an extensive renovation.
The back-to-back media praise has delighted management at Palm House.
To be in best-new-hotels lists after Time in March named it among the “greatest” places is “an extraordinary honor,” general manager Natalie Le Clerc told the Daily News. “From the beginning, we aimed to create something truly distinctive and seeing that resonate with guests and the travel community is incredibly rewarding,” she said.
Travel + Leisure’ sent 64 reporters to vet new and renovated hotels in 44 countries. Its 100 Best New Hotels in the World list features properties in Europe, Asia, South America, the United States and elsewhere.
Among them: Arev in St. Tropez, France; Palazzo Talia in Rome; the Four Seasons Hotel Osaka in Japan; and Mandarin Oriental in Beijing.
Palm House, 160 Royal Palm Way, is among three Florida entries, including The St. Regis Resort Longboat Key and a premium Disney cruise ship that departs from Cape Canaveral.
One of Palm House’s greatest assets, according to Travel + Leisure, is its palm-tree-fringed pool deck with daybeds and tiled swimming pool. It “steals the spotlight and makes the hotel feel undeniably like a Palm Beach hot spot.”
In Esquire’s 2025 list of 42 “Best New Hotels in the World”, Palm House is among properties in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean and elsewhere — each identified as a winner after visits by an Esquire editor or “trusted contributor,” the magazine said.
Travel “has never been hotter,” Esquire notes, adding that thousands of worldwide hotel projects have just been completed or are under development.
Featured in its list are such hotels as the Borneta in Barcelona, Spain; Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve property in Costa Rica; and the Six Senses Kyoto in Japan.
Palm House “manages to feel like Florida’s most modern offering — but in a fun way,” Esquire writes. The hotel’s bar is “just one of those enjoyable environments with excellent drinks and a great soundtrack,” while the dining room “is where you want to be” with its “Japanese-infused menu” and a crowd that includes the “younger set.”
Along with the Beach Club in Boca Raton, Palm House is among just two Florida properties highlighted.
Esquire’s commentary about Palm House also mentions nearby Buccan Sandwich Shop, home to a “famous” beef carpaccio sandwich.
Palm House underwent three years of renovations under its current owner, who in 2019 paid about $40 million for the property.
The lobby-and-bar area is decorated in pinks and greens with a vaulted ceiling, Murano-glass chandeliers and a wall installation with thousands of seashells. Beyond the dining room is an expansive pool courtyard that can be seen from many of the hotel’s 79 rooms and suites.
Before Palm House’s Thanksgiving weekend grand reopening, the hotel had not welcomed a guest in 17 years. Prior to the 2019 sale to a new owner, it had had been mired in a tangle of issues, among them: code violations, SEC investigations and a foreclosure action, the Daily News has reported.
The owner since 2019 is an affiliate of London-based hospitality investment and management company L+R Hotels, also known as London and Regional Group Hotel Holdings.
Palm House is the first U.S. hotel to be branded as part of the company’s Iconic Luxury Hotels collection, which includes, among other things, Cliveden House in Berkshire near Windsor, England.
Double-occupancy nightly room rates at Palm House start at around $1,200 in peak season and drop to $499 in the slower season, hotel officials have said.
