For the second straight season, the Padres will have some time to work into a rhythm before facing the Dodgers.
The 2026 season will begin March 26 at Petco Park with a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers, according to a schedule released on Tuesday. The Padres’ first game against the Dodgers doesn’t arrive until May 18, also at Petco Park. This year, the teams didn’t meet for the first time until June 9.
Major League Baseball has not finalized its international plans, but the Padres’ first month of the 2026 season is expected to include a trip to Mexico City for two games against the host Diamondbacks (April 25-26).
In addition to the Tigers (March 26-28), other American League teams playing games at Petco Park next year include the Mariners (April 14-16), the Chicago White Sox (May 1-3), the Athletics (April 22-24), the Toronto Blue Jays (July 10-12), the Houston Astros (Aug. 7-9), the Minnesota Twins (Aug. 21-23) and the New York Yankees (Sept. 4-6).
The Padres will travel to Boston (April 3-5), Anaheim (April 17-19), Seattle (May 15-17 for the conclusion of the Vedder Cup), Baltimore (June 12-14), Texas (June 19-21), Kansas City (July 17-19), Cleveland (Aug. 14-16) and Tampa Bay (Aug. 28-30).
The All-Star break is July 13-16, followed by the Padres’ annual Comic-Con road trip. They’ll travel to Kansas City (July 17-19), Atlanta (July 20-23) and Miami (July 24-26) before returning home.
The Padres will host the Dodgers May 18-20 and June 26-28 and will play at Dodger Stadium July 2-5 and Sept 22-24. The final Dodgers series in Los Angeles is the second-to-last series of the season, as the Padres will return to Petco Park to finish the year against the Diamondbacks (Sept. 25-27).
