London travel news LIVE: Windrush line suspended due to 'customer incident' at Whitechapel – London Evening Standard

Londoners are facing disruption getting around on public transport with multiple TfL and National Rail services suffering suspensions and delays.
At 9.50am, the entire Windrush line was suspended, following a “customer incident” at Whitechapel. The Piccadilly line was also partially suspended between Cockfosters and Oakwood, and there were minor delays between Oakwood and Kings Cross St Pancras.
Meanwhile, a fault with the signalling system at East Croydon disrupted the Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink services running through this station, causing delays of up to 10 minutes.

Regent’s Park station is closed due to a faulty lift.
A Jewish boy was taken to a hospital following a “racially motivated assault” at a north London Tube station, a Jewish security charity has reported.
Three Jewish boys were threatened with a knife by six or seven suspects at around 8.30pm at Hampstead Underground Station on Bank Holiday Monday, the Shomrim neighbourhood watch said.

London Overground services between Highbury & Islington and Canada Water may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
This is due to an incident close to the railway between Shoreditch High Street and Shadwell.
Disruption is expected until 12.00pm.

A good service has resumed on the Metropolitan line.
Warren Street station has reopened following partial closure due to a faulty escalator.
The entire Windrush line is suspended due to a customer incident at Whitechapel.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson told The Standard: “We are currently assisting the Metropolitan Police at an incident on Cavell Street, E1.
The Brigade was called at 0652 and a fire engine and fire rescue unit remain in attendance.”
A good service has resumed on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines.
The disruption caused by the fault with the signalling system at East Croydon is expected to last the entire day.
Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink trains running through East Croydon may be cancelled, delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised.
