Commuters are experiencing significant delays this morning due to a massive fire that is blazing near a set of important railway arches.
The Piccadilly line is suspended between South Harrow and Uxbridge due to the fire alert at South Harrow, with severe delays on the rest of the line.
According to fire firefighters, many gas cylinders are also thought to have exploded in the early phases of the fire beneath the South Harrow station rails.
At approximately 1.30am, the London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene of a fire that was affecting a number of railway arches and businesses, notably car workshops, located within the arches close to Roxeth Green Avenue in South Harrow.
About 100 firefighters are on the site, and because of the smoke, people are urged to keep their doors and windows closed.
Crews suggest they are “likely” to be at the scene well into the morning.
There are minor delays on the Elizabeth line between Hayes and Harlington and Reading due to late finish to engineering work at Slough and minor delays on the Jubilee line.

The District line is now providing a good service on its entire line.
Commuters are now able to travel to and from Chalk Farm station as it resumes service.
Chalk Farm station is closed due to unavailability of station staff.
Tickets are being accepted on London Buses.
Traffic is reportedly slow in both directions on Clifford Avenue approaching road works.
Expect delays.
The Northern line, which was part suspended, is now operating a good service.
Minor delays between Barking and Upminster due to train cancellations.
There is a good service on the rest of the line.
This delay is not impacting routes to Wimbledon.
There is currently no service between Finchley Central and Mill Hill East while a signal failure at Finchley Central is fixed.
Tickets are being accepted on London Buses and Thameslink.

The earlier overrunning engineering work between London Paddington and Reading has now been completed, allowing all lines running between these stations to reopen.
Until service fully recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 9:30am.
There are delays on the westbound approach on the Southend Arterial Road.
There are also delays on Ardleigh Green Road eastbound and Squirrels Heath Road westbound on approach to the closure.
Chancery Lane is now open and operating a good service.
