LH Flights from Frankfurt strengthen Europe-Malaysia tourism – TravelMole

Malaysia is strengthening its international connectivity: With the introduction of a new nonstop service between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur, Lufthansa Airlines is sending a strong signal for the growing travel and business exchange between Europe and Malaysia.
Starting October 25, 2026, the route will operate year-round five times a week – daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flights are already open for booking.
Flight LH 704 will depart Frankfurt at 9:30 p.m., arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 4:40 p.m. local time the following day. The return flight LH 705 will leave Kuala Lumpur at 11:55 p.m. and land in Frankfurt at 6:00 a.m. the next morning. The flight schedule is optimally coordinated with Lufthansa’s global network, offering seamless onward connections throughout Europe as well as to North America.
Lufthansa will use one of its most recent aircraft : the Boeing 787-9, equipped with the latest premium cabin product, Allegris, which offers a particularly comfortable and modern travel experience in all classes.
The new service will be the only nonstop connection operated by a Lufthansa Group airline from its home markets of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy to Malaysia. Alongside Bangkok, Singapore and Phuket, Kuala Lumpur will become one of the Lufthansa Group’s key gateways in Southeast Asia.
The air route to Germany will join existing connections to Europe from Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam (KLM), Istanbul (AirAsia X and Turkish Airlines), London-Heathrow (British Airways and Malaysia Airlines) and Paris-CDG (Malaysia Airlines).
With 42.2 million visitors in 2025, Malaysia ranks among the most attractive destinations in Southeast Asia for both leisure and business travelers. The country’s unique blend of cultural diversity, breathtaking nature, modern cities and rich historical heritage makes it an exceptional destination in the heart of Asia.
Malaysia is also an important economic partner for Europe. Germany is Malaysia’s largest trading partner within the European Union, and more than 700 German companies operate in the country. The new direct connection therefore creates ideal conditions for intensifying exchange in tourism, trade, investment and innovation.
Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director General, Tourism Malaysia; warmly welcomed Lufthansa’s decision. ” The Lufthansa nonstop service significantly facilitates direct access to the “Land of Diversity” for travelers not only from the German-speaking markets  but also from other European markets thanks to the role played by Frankfurt as a global hub in Europe. It strengthens Malaysia’s position as a leading destination in Southeast Asia, and sustainably supports tourism growth at the beginning of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, he told.
