BUFFALO, N.Y. — Lake effect snows are winding down quickly, but some tricky travel is still possible, especially across the southtowns on Friday.
Snowfall totals from 2 to 3 1/2 feet for the southtowns with the amounts dropping off as you get closer to the city of Buffalo.
Travel bans are being lifted for places, like Hamburg and Blasdell, due to improving road conditions but some travel advisories are still in place.
A State of Emergency remains in effect for Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, and Wyoming counties.
The rest of the day will be mostly sunny and cold with a few snow showers possible for the Southern Tier.
