DAMMAM– Kuwait Airways (KU) will resume scheduled flights between Kuwait City (KWI) and Istanbul Airport (IST) via Dammam (DMM) starting April 1, 2026, marking a strategic return to a key international route. The airline will operate two weekly services, strengthening regional connectivity between the Gulf and Türkiye.
The relaunch reflects Kuwait Airways’ ongoing efforts to enhance operational flexibility and meet evolving passenger demand. The airline aims to streamline travel options while maintaining service efficiency through its revised routing via Saudi Arabia.
Kuwait Airways will operate the Kuwait–Istanbul route twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays. The flights will transit through Dammam, offering passengers a structured and consistent schedule.
This routing allows the airline to optimize fleet usage and maintain operational continuity. It also supports growing travel demand between Kuwait and Istanbul, a popular destination for both tourism and business.
The airline confirmed that it has aligned its scheduling strategy with passenger demand patterns. This ensures smoother operations and improved connectivity across its network.
Kuwait Airways has introduced several passenger-focused services to support the resumed route. Travelers flying to Saudi Arabia can access visa application assistance, provided they hold confirmed flight bookings.
Premium passengers in Royal and Business Class can benefit from complimentary limousine transfers. Economy Class passengers can also access this service at fixed rates, improving accessibility for all travelers.
Passengers may complete check-in procedures at the Al Khiran Mall lounge up to 24 hours before departure, Gulf News reported. This early check-in option reduces airport congestion and enhances the overall travel experience.
The airline also operates dedicated bus transfers from Al Khiran Mall to the land border. These buses depart eight hours prior to flight departure, ensuring timely arrival for onward travel.
Travelers using private vehicles can complete travel formalities at designated locations, including Al Khiran Mall and the Sabah Al-Salem sales office. This provides flexibility for passengers preferring independent travel arrangements.
Baggage check-in takes place at Dammam Airport three hours before departure. Final check-in closes one hour before takeoff, and passengers must adhere strictly to these timelines.
Kuwait Airways has streamlined its booking channels to improve accessibility. Customers can reserve tickets via the airline’s call center, WhatsApp service, or physical sales offices.
The airline continues to adopt a responsive approach to operational planning. This ensures it can adapt quickly to market demand while maintaining service reliability.
The resumption of Istanbul flights highlights Kuwait Airways’ commitment to rebuilding its international network. It also reinforces the airline’s focus on passenger convenience and operational efficiency.
