BEAUMONT, Texas — The Bearkats hit the road for a midweek matchup against Lamar at the LU Softball Complex on Tuesday night. 
Sam Houston (14-8) recently wrapped up play at the Oklahoma Tournament and continues its stretch of road games. The Bearkats went 3-2 over the weekend and are set for a rematch with the Cardinals (10-10). 
Sam Houston faced Lamar earlier this season in Huntsville, falling 9-4. The Bearkats hold a 32-13 advantage in the all-time series, which began in 1984. 
Freshman Sophia Lundstrom leads the Bearkats with a .389 batting average and 28 hits. Bella Perez paces the team with 22 RBIs, while Jordan Peno leads with seven doubles and two triples. Veronica Harrison has a team-best seven home runs this season. 
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the LU Softball Complex.
