JetBlue is dropping its daily service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA).
The news was first reported by Ishrion Aviation.
JetBlue has flown the route since 2016 and currently operates it six times daily. It’s a popular route due to the high volume of corporate travel between Boston and New York City.
In media statements, JetBlue said the decision was driven by rising airport fees at LaGuardia, making it difficult to keep fares low while remaining profitable. The airline also said the move is part of its JetForward strategy, announced in September 2024, which aims to reshape its route network to improve profitability.
JetBlue will officially cut the route at the end of April. It will continue service between Boston Logan and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and plans to redeploy three of its LaGuardia slots to another route while leasing the other three to another carrier.
Canadian carrier Porter Airlines, which recently announced new service between LaGuardia and Toronto Pearson (YYZ), is rumored to be the lessee.
