The Crew are back in California for the second time in two weeks, traveling to face MLS’ newest team, San Diego FC.
After drawing Los Angeles FC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16, the Crew were in Los Angeles for their first leg matchup of the two-game series March 4. Columbus fell to LAFC 4-2 on aggregate and was knocked out of the tournament on Tuesday.
The trip to San Diego comes on four days rest from Columbus’ previous game.
“This is the schedule. The good part is we get used to it,” Crew coach Wilfried Nancy said. “The bad part is we have to travel again, but my players are really good to take care of themselves when we travel like this, it’s not like they’re complaining.”
Columbus is the first Eastern Conference team San Diego is facing in its inaugural season.
