Volaris expands its Houston network with new direct flights to Morelia and San Luis Potosí starting July 2025, offering more affordable travel options.
Expanded Routes from Houston
Volaris is reinforcing its presence at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) with the launch of two new routes connecting Houston to Morelia and San Luis Potosí. Beginning July 5, 2025, the ultra-low-cost carrier will operate three weekly flights to each of these Mexican destinations, further expanding its reach for travelers seeking affordable and convenient cross-border connections. Tickets for these newly introduced routes are now available for booking.
Strengthening U.S.-Mexico Connectivity
The airline’s latest expansion aligns with its ongoing strategy to enhance connectivity between the United States and Mexico. Currently, Volaris operates seven weekly flights from Houston to Mexico City and eight weekly flights to Guadalajara. Additionally, service to Monterrey is scheduled to commence in March 2025, further solidifying the carrier’s footprint in the region.
Growing Central American Services
Beyond its domestic Mexican network, Volaris El Salvador has been offering four weekly flights between Houston and San Salvador since March 2023, catering to the growing demand for travel between Texas and Central America.
Commitment to Affordable Travel
With these new routes, Volaris continues to offer competitive fares and increased accessibility for travelers flying between the U.S. and Mexico. The airline’s expansion underscores its commitment to serving key markets with cost-effective travel options while strengthening its international network. As Volaris scales up operations at IAH, passengers will enjoy greater flexibility and more choices when planning their trips to Mexico and beyond.
“Houston’s status as the primary gateway to Latin America continues to grow with Volaris’ new nonstop flights to Morelia and San Luis Potosí,” said Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports. “These new routes add even more convenient options for travelers while strengthening our city’s deep ties with Mexico, expanding travel options for families and businesses, and reinforcing Houston’s role as a global hub for connectivity. As we prepare to welcome the world for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, every new international connection enhances Houston’s position as a leader in global air travel and economic opportunity.”
“This increase in Volaris’ domestic and international routes reaffirms our commitment to offering Customers in and outside of México the best opportunities to travel more affordably, comfortably, and safely to more destinations,” said Holger Blankenstein, executive vice president of Volaris. “Whether to be closer to loved ones, for business, or simply to enjoy great leisure moments on vacation.”
