HOUSTON — Houston-based ultra-low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines is adding its third-ever route out of its hometown market as part of a larger nationwide expansion.
The new flight will connect Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) with coastal North Carolina’s Wilmington International Airport (ILM). This will be Houston’s only nonstop flight to Wilmington, which is about an hour and a half from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Hobby-Wilmington service begins June 11 and will be offered twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Introductory one-way fares will start at $69 for travel completed between June 11 and Aug. 23. Flights must be booked by March 17.
The new route “offers H-Town travelers easy access to everything coastal North Carolina has to offer,” Avelo Airlines founder and CEO Andrew Levy said in a March 11 press release. “This route will also make visiting Houston easier than ever for visitors from Wilmington.”
