Mexico City International Airport–Benito Juárez (MEX) and Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU/AIFA) are separate airports. NLU is north of central Mexico City, while MEX is within the urban area. The practical choice depends on the flight and complete ground journey.
Read the full airport name
Do not rely on the words Mexico City alone. Confirm MEX or NLU on each flight segment and send the code to the hotel or transfer provider. Separate tickets can use different airports.
Compare the final destination
Centro Histórico, Reforma, Polanco, Roma, Condesa and destinations outside the city can favor different routes. Use the exact address and expected arrival time when comparing rail, bus, authorized taxi or another approved option.
Verify current transportation
Ground services at both airports can change as infrastructure and regulations develop. Use the official airport and transportation authority information for rail, bus, taxi and pickup instructions immediately before travel.
Do not schedule a tight MEX-NLU connection
A transfer between the airports crosses a large metropolitan area and may not be protected by either airline. Immigration, baggage, traffic and a second check-in require a substantial buffer.
