From beaches to theme parks: JetBlue boosts Florida flights from Fort Lauderdale – FTN news

JetBlue
JetBlue announces an expansion of its Fort Lauderdale network with two new year-round nonstop routes and additional daily flights, strengthening its position as the airport’s largest carrier. The airline launches twice-daily service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Orlando International Airport on May 21, alongside daily nonstop flights to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport starting March 12.
The expansion also adds two more daily flights on JetBlue’s popular Fort Lauderdale to New York LaGuardia route. JetBlue confirms the Dallas service, initially planned as a spring break-only route, now operates year-round, underscoring the airline’s continued investment in South Florida.
The new Fort Lauderdale–Orlando route directly links two of Florida’s most visited cities, offering travelers an alternative to the often congested drive between South and Central Florida. With morning and evening departures, JetBlue positions the route for vacationers, families and travelers visiting friends and relatives, while also creating smoother connections to destinations across its wider network.
“These additions reflect the momentum we’ve built in Florida and our continued investment in Fort Lauderdale as a key gateway in our network,” said Dave Jehn, Vice President, Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue. “By connecting our focus cities and expanding successful routes, we’re giving customers more reasons to choose JetBlue for travel within Florida and beyond.”
JetBlue describes Fort Lauderdale and Orlando as “focus cities,” a strategy that allows the airline to concentrate flights, schedules and customer experience in key leisure-driven markets. By linking the two, the carrier aims to simplify travel for visitors heading to Florida’s beaches, cruise ports and theme parks, while also supporting onward connections to domestic and international destinations.
The Dallas Fort Worth route adds a major central U.S. hub to JetBlue’s Fort Lauderdale network. Operating daily throughout the year, the service connects South Florida travelers to one of the country’s largest airports, expanding options for both leisure and business passengers.
The announcement builds on a period of rapid growth for JetBlue in Florida, with Fort Lauderdale playing a central role. In 2025, the airline expands its Florida network to 10 destinations, with an 11th — Destin/Fort Walton Beach — launching in March.
JetBlue also confirms its largest-ever schedule at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. By December, the airline reaches 113 daily departures, serving 46 nonstop destinations across the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Recent additions include new routes to key cities across the region, reinforcing Fort Lauderdale’s role as a gateway between North America, Latin America and island destinations.
Beyond route growth, JetBlue continues to invest in onboard experience and staffing in South Florida. The airline expands availability of its premium Mint® experience on select routes from both Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, catering to travelers seeking lie-flat seats and enhanced service on longer flights.
JetBlue also plans to open a dedicated Mint inflight crewmember base in Fort Lauderdale later this year. The move further anchors the airline’s operations in the region and supports its growing schedule from the airport.
To mark the launch of the new Fort Lauderdale–Orlando service, JetBlue is offering introductory one-way fares starting at $49 for a limited time, available on its website. The airline says the promotion is designed to encourage travelers to try the short-haul route and highlights the convenience of flying between two of Florida’s busiest travel markets.

For travelers, the latest expansion means more nonstop options, increased frequency on popular routes and greater flexibility when planning trips across Florida and beyond. As airlines continue to compete for leisure travelers in the Sunshine State, JetBlue’s growing footprint in Fort Lauderdale positions the airport as a key launch point for beach breaks, theme park visits and longer-haul journeys.
