The UK Foreign Office has issued an urgent update after an Air India flight crashed just moments after take off earlier today.
Two-hundred-and-forty-two people were on the flight which went down only minutes after it departed at 1.38pm local time, from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick.
Everyone on the flight is believed to have died in the crash, local police chief, Commissioner GS Malik said, telling Associated Press that "it appears there are no survivors in the plane crash."
The FCDO has addressed the incident, stating it is working closely with local authorities in India to establish the facts of the matter.

Fifty three Britons were believed to have been onboard when the plane went down today, as well as 169 Indian nationals, one Canadian citizen and seven Portuguese nationals.
The Foreign Office's statement read: "We are aware of a plane crash in Ahmedabad. The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
"British nationals who require consular assistance or have concerns about friends or family should call 020 7008 5000.
"The Government of Gujarat State have established an Emergency Centre that can be contacted on: +91 (0) 79 23251900 / +91 (0) 9078405304.
"Air India has set up a dedicated passenger hotline number. Families in India seeking more information can call +91 (0) 1800 5691 444."

A total of 11 children were said to have been on the flight, alongside 217 adults. Ten crew members were on the flight which went down.
The pilot has been named as Sumeet Sabharwal, with his co-pilot identified as Clive Kundar.
Between the two captains they had 9,300 hours of flying experience it has been reported.
Emergency services have been at the scene of the crash since the incident occurred, with firefighters reported to be putting out blazes at the scene earlier.
Why the crash happened has not yet been revealed, but it is understood the cause is currently under investigation.
