The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice for Mexico, saying it no longer advises against all but essential travel the whole of the state of Jalisco.
This includes the municipalities of Guadalajara or Puerto Vallarta.
The ban does, however, remain in areas south and south-west of Lake Chapala to the border with the state of Colima, as well as several northern municipalities.
The northern municipalities are: Bolaños, Chimaltitán, Colotlán, Hostotipaquillo, Huejúcar, Huequilla el Alto, Mezquitic, San Martin de Bolaños, Santa Maria de los Ángeles, Totatiche and Villa Guerrero.
