Dominica Is Getting a Second Nonstop Flight From New York — Just in Time for Winter

One day on Bequia. Another on Mustique. Then a sail to Mayreau. Or maybe a stop on Union. It’s always been one of the best places for island hopping in the Caribbean. It’s actually getting here that’s always been something of a challenge.
That has been changing, though, in recent years, as the country’s new Argyle airport allowed for the first ever international flights from the mainland US and Canada.
And now, St Vincent has another major new route, another boost for a destination that has been drawing increased attention from travelers over the past year.
Delta Air Lines is now officially operating daily nonstop service between Atlanta and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, adding a major new access point during the peak winter travel season.
Daily Nonstop Service Is Now Operating
The route began operating late last month and runs daily through Apr. 12, 2026. Delta is currently the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop service from Atlanta to St. Vincent.
Flights are operated using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with First Class, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating.
Why This Route Matters Now
St. Vincent has long been one of the more logistically challenging Caribbean destinations to reach from the continental United States. Daily nonstop service significnatly reduces travel time and simplifies trip planning, particularly for winter travelers.
The timing coincides with increased interest in the destination following recent hotel openings and broader visibility for St. Vincent as both a resort base and a gateway to the Grenadines.
Improved Access to the Grenadines
St. Vincent serves as the main gateway to the Grenadines, including Bequia, Canouan, and Mustique. With Atlanta acting as a major hub, travelers from across the U.S. can now reach the islands with fewer connections and more scheduling flexibility.
Delta has positioned the route as part of its expanded winter Caribbean network, targeting destinations that have historically had limited nonstop U.S. airlift.

Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Opened in 2024, Sandals’ first resort in St. Vincent has been a major driver of new demand for the island. The adults-only, all-inclusive property is located on Buccament Bay and features beachfront rooms and villas, multiple dining venues, and direct access to the main island’s natural attractions, along with some overwater villas, too.
Young Island Resort
One of the Caribbean’s classic private-island resorts, the old-school Young Island sits just offshore from Kingstown and is accessed by short boat transfer. The resort offers standalone cottages, a long-established restaurant, and a low-density, traditional Caribbean atmosphere that takes you back a few decades in a very charming way.
Bequia Beach Hotel
Located on Bequia, this boutique beachfront hotel is a popular choice for travelers looking for a quieter Grenadines experience. Reaching Bequia requires a short onward flight or ferry from St. Vincent, but the island’s relaxed pace and walkable beaches remain a major draw.
Soho Beach House Canouan
Soho Beach House is located on Canouan, offering a private-club-style experience with beach access, dining, and wellness facilities. Access is via St. Vincent followed by a connecting flight, positioning it as a more exclusive option within the Grenadines.
What Travelers Should Know
The new nonstop flights operate daily through mid-April, covering the core winter season. Delta has not yet announced whether the service will continue beyond the current schedule window.
For travelers who have had St. Vincent on their radar, the launch removes one of the biggest remaining barriers to visiting — and places the island more firmly within reach for the 2026 winter season.
