Corpus Christi, TX – A rare winter storm is set to bring wintry conditions to South Texas beginning Monday night, prompting a Winter Storm Warning from midnight Monday until 6 p.m. Tuesday. The warning includes Corpus Christi, Victoria, Laredo, and surrounding areas.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the storm will bring light snow, sleet, and ice accumulation, accompanied by winds gusting up to 40 mph. Roads, bridges, and overpasses are expected to become slick and hazardous, making travel dangerous across the region.

The impacted area includes inland and coastal counties such as Nueces, San Patricio, Refugio, and Victoria. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors until conditions improve. If travel is unavoidable, extreme caution is urged.
The NWS recommends layering clothing to stay warm and covering exposed skin to prevent frostbite or hypothermia. Motorists should ensure their vehicles are winterized and allow extra time for travel.
This weather event marks an unusual occurrence for South Texas, where such wintry conditions are rare. Residents should monitor updates and prepare for potential power outages or delays in services.
