Little Rock, AR – Central Arkansas is in for a stormy start to the week, with heavy rain and gusty winds expected through Wednesday. Wet roads and reduced visibility could make travel hazardous, particularly on I-40 and I-30, which run through Pulaski County.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin Monday night and continue through at least Wednesday afternoon. Winds could reach 20 mph, with gusts making outdoor conditions difficult. Rainfall totals may exceed an inch in some areas, increasing the risk of ponding on roadways.
Tuesday’s high will be 42°F, with steady rain and breezy conditions. Showers will taper off by Wednesday night, but temperatures will drop to 27°F, potentially leading to slick roads and icy patches by Thursday morning.
Drivers should exercise caution, reduce speeds, and allow extra travel time. Those commuting early Thursday should watch for ice, especially on bridges and overpasses.
