Six countries, including the USA, UK, Australia, and Switzerland, have issued travel restrictions advising their citizens against visiting Assam and other northeastern states due to concerns over the law-and-order situation, Assam Tourism Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass informed the assembly on Tuesday.

Responding to a query from Congress MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, Dass said the travel advisories were issued by the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Switzerland.
