BREAKING: Major Traffic Issue on The 90 in Western New York – 92.9 WBUF

An accident had traffic backed up for miles on the I-90 heading East between the Depew exit and Pembroke.

For most in Western New York, we are headed into the final week of summer vacation. Labor Day weekend is next weekend, and school will start the following week on Tuesday, September, for many public schools. So, families will be traveling one last time in an effort to fit in a vacation before the routine begins again.
No doubt, thousands of people will use the 90 to head to their destination. Whether heading toward New York City and the East Coast, or driving out west, the 90 crosses the entire United States, and it's a major route for the nation, let alone for New Yorkers and people from the Buffalo area. When there is a traffic incident on it, it can be a serious problem. That's precisely what we have today.
Looking at the traffic cameras, clearly, there is a major backup heading east. This is from the Pembroke exit 48A:
We hope everyone is OK. The backup does not appear to be affecting the Depew exit or 290/90 interchange as of now:
It will be a busy weekend on the roads in New York State. Take extra caution and, if headed that way today, think about an alternate route such as 20 or 104.
