Flight travel opportunities continue to grow on the Treasure Coast now that American Airlines has announced service between Vero Beach and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Flights will take off Feb. 12 and tickets will go on sale Sept. 15 for this new destination out of Vero Beach.
American Airlines joins Breeze Airways and JetBlue Airways, which will begin service Dec. 11, in providing passenger commercial service from Vero Beach Regional Airport.

The addition of the American Airlines flight to Charlotte, North Carolina, in February will bring the total number of routes to 11.
Vero Beach Regional Airport is the only airport offering commercial passenger service on the Treasure Coast. However, the Treasure Coast International Airport in St. Lucie County is anticipating getting a passenger airline to begin service out of the airport.
St. Lucie County and Treasure Coast International Airport have been certified for commercial passenger flights since October 2024. St. Lucie County Commissioner Cathy Townsend said there is a chance an airline could be at the airport by the end of the year, she told TCPalm in August.
