American Airlines will launch its shortest international flight between Miami (MIA) and South Bimini (BIM) in the Bahamas. This will launch on February 14th 2026 with 3 flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. This will give easier and faster access for travelers compared to the ferries and local airlines currently servicing the island.

At 64 miles, the Miami to South Bimini route will be the shortest flight in the american airlines network, beating out the 67 mile Chicago to Milwaukee route. This flight will be operated by American Eagle and Envoy Air on Embraer E175 jets, which has 12 business class and 64 economy seats. Flights from Miami leave at 10:05 and arrive at South Bimini at 11:05, and the return flight leaves at 11:50 arriving in Miami at 12:50.
